Our development department is located in our company building in Leutkirch im Allgäu.
Since its foundation over 20 years ago, we have been developing customised cooling solutions and standard products for electronic applications of all kinds. The employees in the development department have many years of experience in the design of thermal solutions. Specially trained employees, who have worked exclusively on the development of cooling solutions since the beginning of their training, support our company enormously.
Thanks to daily co-operation with our production facilities in Asia and annual visits on site, we are able to incorporate the most suitable manufacturing process with the best possible quality into our products.
In addition to the development and design of cooling solutions, our development department offers thermal simulations and measurements as well as feasibility tests and defines relevant test dimensions.

Conflict Minerals
In 2010, the United States Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd-Frank Act). Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act and the implementing regulations of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) require companies listed on the American stock exchange to report whether the products they produce or have commissioned to be produced contain "conflict minerals". The Dodd-Frank Act and the SEC define "conflict minerals" as tantalum, tin, tungsten (and the ores from which they are extracted) and gold.

RoHS Directive
The aim of the RoHS Directive is to ban hazardous substances such as mercury, lead, hexavalent chromium, etc. from electronic waste. The basic prerequisite for a partnership with EKL AG on the part of suppliers is compliance with both the RoHS and REACH directives. We also carry out spot checks on our incoming goods using X-ray fluorescence analysis.
REACH Regulation
The REACH regulation is an EU chemicals regulation and stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. The main aim of REACH is to regulate the use of substances of very high concern. New SVHCs are added to the candidate list twice a year. Quality laboratory with state-of-the-art measuring technology
We have greatly expanded our quality laboratory in recent years. In addition to X-ray fluorescence analysis and a 3D measuring machine, we can also carry out rapid thermal tests and much more.
Rapid thermal measuring device
The rapid thermal measuring device serves as a comparative test to the initial samples/specification samples. In addition, position-related thermal tests can be carried out. This ensures that the products cool optimally in the respective installed state.

Products can be precisely measured using the 3D measuring machine.
Even customised products with very tight tolerances can be tested down to 0.001 mm.

X-ray fluorescence analysis
X-ray fluorescence analysis is very important to us, as all our products are ROHS-compliant. With the help of this device, we can analyse components of the material and thus exclude non-permissible substances such as lead or mercury.
Wet chemical analysis
We work together with certified testing laboratories to analyse non-homogeneous materials in detail.
Random sample inspection of all incoming goods
To ensure the consistently high quality of our products, we carry out extensive incoming goods inspections for all deliveries in accordance with product-specific test plans and test specifications. In doing so, we are able to intensively test the critical characteristics for your application.

Visual inspection
During the visual inspection, the products are inspected for scratches, burrs, chips, processing, assembly, packaging, transport damage, etc. Furthermore, we can individually inspect customer-specific cosmetic requirements, e.g. for visible parts.
Dimensional inspection
With our extensive testing equipment, we are able to measure complex geometries accurately and repeatably. All functionally relevant dimensions are tested, as well as threads, layer thickness, fits, etc.
Thermal testing
During thermal testing, the test samples are thermally measured in comparison to the defined initial samples or release samples. The test can be carried out in different installation positions, which is particularly important for coolers with heat pipes.
Electronic testing
The electronic testing of fans includes checking the polarity, speed, current consumption, tacho signal, PWM control, starting voltage and voltage range.
Assembly tests
If we are able to carry out an assembly test, e.g. for CPU coolers on all standard sockets, we carry out assembly tests with every delivery. Not least to ensure that the contact pressure required by the CPU manufacturers is maintained. On request, we can also carry out assembly tests for customised applications. All we need for this is a model of your application to integrate it into our test.
